FRESH questions have been raised about Tony Blair’s links with Rupert Murdoch after it emerged he is godfather to one of the media mogul’s young children.
Mr Blair’s office has declined to comment on the disclosure revealed by the News Corporation boss’s third wife Wendi Deng in an interview with fashion magazine Vogue.
The former prime minister was reportedly present when Mr Murdoch’s two daughters Grace, nine, and Chloe, eight, were baptised on the banks of the river Jordan last year.
And while Mrs Murdoch does not comment directly on Mr Blair, the article identifies him as Grace’s godfather and says he attended the event “garbed in white”. He is said to be one of Mr Murdoch’s “closest friends”.
