Mandrake hears that the former chief executive of News International recently attended a shoot hosted by Ross, who owns the 700-year-old Nevill Holt estate in Leicestershire.
The invitation by the Conservative Party donor, who numbers the Prime Minister among his friends, will have been welcome for Brooks as her sudden notoriety has caused havoc in her social circles.
Cameron and his wife, Samantha, have been at pains not to be photographed with her, while Michael Gove, the Education Secretary, and his wife, Sarah Vine, reportedly refused at the last minute to attend a Take That concert at Wembley with her in August.
