The mother of Hugh Grant's baby received threatening phone calls because the actor spoke out against the media, a public inquiry into press ethics has heard.
She received a "barrage" of calls when the British actor appeared on BBC Question Time and criticised the News of the World.When she answered she was threatened in the most "menacing terms", lawyer David Sherborne told the Leveson Inquiry.
Mr Sherborne, who is representing 48 alleged victims of press intrusion, said the actor's former partner was informed: "Tell Hugh Grant to shut the f--- up."
She has since taken out an injunction.
