Dr. Spin (Andrew Honnor) appears to have been spinning since last May about his own undisclosed project. Interesting then that News Internatiol claims Honnor will only be with them until the end of the year when Dr.Spin will be starting his own 'UNDISCLOSED' communications company... This tells me if Honnor spins them out of the hot water they now find themselves in Andrew Honnor will remain.
Change is afoot in the world of PR. A wave of high-ranking staff at various corporate public relations agencies are getting itchy feet and quitting to launch their own firms.
Those involved are hardly household names, even in the City, but they represent a small but significant trend.
One of the most notable start-ups has been Stockwell Group, launched last December by ex-Maitland chief executive Philip Gawith, former Friends Provident in-house PR Nick Boakes and Tim Burt of Brunswick.
Then Andrew Honnor, a partner at Tulchan, quit in May to launch his own as yet undisclosed start-up, which will reportedly work with hedge funds and private equity. Three FD managing directors have also just resigned to launch their own firm. Each had worked at FD more than a decade.
