#Bombardier: #Cameron dropped Bombardier chief from African trip

A Bombardier executive was dropped from David Cameron's South Africa visit at the last minute, it was revealed today.

The Derby-based engineering firm is axing jobs after losing a lucrative contract to build new train carriages, with the deal instead going to German firm Siemens.

And Colin Walton, chairman of Bombardier's UK transportation business, was contacted by Downing Street on Friday to say he was no longer wanted on the trip.
